After ten years the vision for Mississippi's Toughest Kids Foundation is becoming a reality. Air Force Reservists from across the country are gaining essential skills while helping to build Camp Kamassa, a special needs camp for Mississippi children and adults just outside of Crystal Springs. Their role in the camp's construction is part of the military's Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) which teams reservists with needed infrastructure projects in communities nationwide.
Mississippi's Toughest Kids Foundation is creating a place for children to explore new things, thrill over exciting adventures, and discover the great big wonderful outdoors. It will be a very special camp facility designed exclusively for children and adults who want to have fun but who are often limited because of serious illnesses, physical and mental challenges, and other special needs they face every day.
Our mission is to build and maintain the first and only year-round, fully handicap accessible camp facility in Mississippi to be used by children and adults with serious illnesses, physical and mental challenges, and other special needs.
